Article Processing Charges (APC) Policy
The Journal for Civil and Criminal Law for Legislative Studies (JCCLLS) follows an open-access publishing model to ensure that all published research remains freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription barriers.
To support the operational costs associated with manuscript processing, peer review management, editorial evaluation, online hosting, archiving, indexing, and long-term digital preservation, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.
1. APC Details
- Article Processing Charge: ₹ 2,500 (Indian Rupees)
- Applicable To: Accepted manuscripts only
- Submission Fee: No submission charges
- Peer Review Fee: No review charges
- Payment Timing: After final acceptance of the manuscript
The APC is charged only after the manuscript has successfully completed the peer review process and received formal acceptance.
2. Transparency and Editorial Independence
- Payment of APC does not influence editorial decisions.
- Acceptance is based solely on academic merit, originality, and peer review recommendations.
- No manuscript is accepted on the basis of payment.
The journal maintains a strict separation between editorial evaluation and financial processing.
3. What the APC Covers
The Article Processing Charge supports:
- Editorial screening and manuscript management
- Double-blind peer review coordination
- Copyediting and formatting
- DOI registration (if applicable)
- Website hosting and online publication
- Long-term digital archiving and preservation
- Administrative and operational expenses
4. Refund Policy
- APCs are non-refundable once the article has been published.
- If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before publication, refund decisions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
5. Waiver and Discount Policy
JCCLLS may consider partial or full APC waivers in exceptional circumstances, including:
- Authors from economically disadvantaged regions
- Early-career researchers or students
- Special thematic issues approved by the Editorial Board
Waiver requests must be submitted before final acceptance and are subject to editorial approval.
6. Payment Procedure
Payment details and instructions will be communicated to the corresponding author upon acceptance. A formal payment acknowledgment or receipt will be issued after confirmation.
