The Journal for Civil and Criminal Law for Legislative Studies (JCCLLS) is committed to the principles of open-access publishing and the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly legal research. All articles published in JCCLLS are made immediately and permanently available online without subscription fees or access barriers.
1. Free and Immediate Access
JCCLLS provides free, full-text access to all published articles. Readers may:
- Read and download articles without charge
- Copy and distribute the published work
- Print or link to full-text articles
- Use content for academic, educational, and research purposes
No registration or subscription is required to access journal content.
2. Open Access Principles
JCCLLS follows internationally recognized open-access principles that promote the free exchange of legal knowledge across jurisdictions. The journal supports the global advancement of legal scholarship, legislative research, and judicial studies by ensuring that published content is accessible to researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and the public worldwide.
3. Copyright and Author Rights
Authors retain full copyright of their work. By publishing in JCCLLS, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, and disseminate the work in electronic and print formats.
Authors are permitted to:
- Deposit the published version of their article in institutional or subject repositories
- Share their work on personal websites and academic platforms
- Use their published content for teaching, conferences, and future research
Proper citation of the original publication in JCCLLS must be maintained in all instances.
4. Licensing Terms
Unless otherwise specified, articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License, which allows users to share and adapt the work for lawful purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the journal.
Any variation from the standard license will be clearly stated in the published article.
5. Article Processing Charges (APC)
To support editorial management, peer review administration, online hosting, archiving, and digital preservation, the journal may charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of a manuscript. The APC does not influence editorial decisions and is communicated transparently to authors prior to publication.
There are no subscription charges or access fees for readers.
6. Archiving and Long-Term Preservation
JCCLLS ensures long-term digital preservation of all published content through secure archiving systems and metadata preservation. Published articles remain permanently accessible without embargo.
