The Journal of Law, Crime, and Political Studies (JLCSP) follows an open-access publishing model designed to promote the broad dissemination of legal and political scholarship while safeguarding author rights.
Copyright Ownership
Authors publishing in JLCSP retain full copyright of their work. Submission and publication in the journal do not involve transfer of copyright ownership to the publisher.
By submitting and publishing a manuscript, authors grant JLCSP a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and display the work in all formats (online and print) for academic, educational, and scholarly purposes.
Creative Commons Licence
Unless otherwise stated, all articles published in JLCSP are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Licence (CC BY).
Under this licence:
- Readers may copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the published work
- Use is permitted for academic, educational, and research purposes
- Proper attribution must be given to the original author(s) and the journal
- A link to the licence must be provided
- Any modifications must be clearly indicated
Author Rights
Authors are permitted to:
- Deposit the published version or accepted manuscript in institutional or subject repositories
- Share their work on personal websites, academic platforms, or legal research networks
- Use the published content for teaching, conference presentations, policy discussions, and future research
No prior permission from the journal is required for these uses, provided appropriate citation is maintained.
User Responsibilities
Users of JLCSP content must:
- Accurately cite the original author(s) and source
- Not misrepresent the author’s work or legal arguments
- Not use the content in a misleading, unethical, or unlawful manner
Third-Party Content
If an article includes third-party copyrighted material, authors are responsible for obtaining appropriate permissions and clearly acknowledging such material. The Creative Commons licence does not apply to content for which the author does not hold rights.
Licence Modifications
Any variation from the default licensing terms must be approved by the editorial office prior to publication and will be clearly indicated in the published article.

JLCSP reserves the right to update these copyright and licensing terms in accordance with evolving legal frameworks, ethical standards, and open-access publishing practices. Updates will be published on the journal’s official website.
